Come learn more tips and tricks of digital photography with Siouxland artist Jerry Mennega!

Jerry will cover the basics of photography using a digital camera (no phone photography), including composition and lighting. Students will then take a series of photographs and share them with the group.

For Ages: 16 and up

Cost: $25

Location: Stadscentrum, Orange City

Time: 9 am to 12 noon

Supplies: Must have your own digital camera equipment (no phones) and a clean SD memory card.

About the Artist Instructor

Jerry Mennenga is a seasoned photographer with over thirty years of experience, primarily working for newspapers and publications, while also engaging in commercial photography. Since 2012, he has maintained a personal blog, where he showcases his photographic work from the Siouxland region and reflects on photography as an art form.

In addition to his professional work, Mennenga has shared his expertise through teaching. He has instructed photography students at Western Iowa Tech, focusing on photojournalism as well as foundational photography skills for beginners. Through Western Iowa Tech’s Lifelong Learning program, he has taught a variety of courses, including photography basics, composition, photo editing with Photoshop, lighting techniques, portrait photography, and travel photography. His teaching emphasizes both technical skills and creative best practices, helping students of all levels enhance their photographic abilities.
